Lower Utility Usage: Ways to Lower Utility Bills

You probably don’t put much thought in your washing of your clothes but if you have the time try not to use the dryer. Use a line in the backyard to hang them up. There are benefits of this one, is of course the lower electricity bill and the second, is that your clothing will last A LOT longer especially jeans.

Another great way to reduce your electricity usage and carbon footprint is to air dry your dishes. Also If you do use a automatic dishwasher make sure you run it as few times as possible. In other words only turn your dishwasher on when you have a full load. If you can reduce the amount you use your dishwasher and dryer you will notice a huge difference in your utility bills. You will also be saving water this way as well which will help you in that department as well

After reducing your heating and air conditioning bills, try to monitor the energy usage of the other units. Get new energy star appliances make sure to find ones with high E S R. This will make sure that they use the lowest  amount of power needed to perform the job. Get replacement for the appliances that you use the most because those are the ones already pulling the most energy.

Then you can check into replacing the appliances that you don’t use near as much. Also when these appliances are not in use unplug them you will be surprised how big of a difference this makes on lowering your utility bills.
