If there is nowhere for the water to go out, then it will remain in the soil and inevitably drown your plants. This is something you need to avoid at all costs, so you need to make sure that your garden has proper drainage before planting. You can do a simple test to make this determination, and once you have confirmed that you have a good place to grow, you can start carrying out the more important gardening activities.

So how do you find out if you need to take action to increase drainage or not? The process is simple and can be done in less than a 24-hour period. First, you should dig a whole between 10 and 12 inches deep, then fill it with water. Do this at night, and let the water sit until the next day. By the morning, it should have drained out most of the way. Put more water in, and wait until the afternoon. Check the hole, and if water remains in it, this means that the drainage of the soil is subpar. If this is the case, you have to find another place to grow, where the drainage is much better and effective.

Some plants need better drainage than others, and it is rare to find a place where the drainage is perfect. If you find one that is suitable enough for the plants that you are growing, then you don’t need to go to another place. This is only necessary if the drainage is so poor it won’t support anything, but there are some things that can exist in less than perfect places. You should do research to determine the needs of everything that you will be growing, because by having this kind of knowledge, you can be sure that your plants can survive in the area where you nurture them.

Back in the Victorian Era and the early 20th century, clawfoot tubs were considered a luxury item.  It was only the well-to-do women (or men) who owned these beautiful tubs.  You see them many times in the old classic movies.  But, now, modern day home designers/builders are adding these clawfoot slipper tubs to the decorum of their bathrooms.
