If you want an easy way to clean up your lawn next fall, then consider investing in a lawn sweeper. These outdoor tools function in a similar fashion to a vacuum cleaner except instead of cleaning your living room carpet, they suck up the debris along the grounds of your frontyard, backyard or garden. The way they work is fairly simple and you can choose from among a number of different models to find the one that best suits your needs.
Basically, the way a sweeper works is easy to understand. You roll an apparatus across the lawn or grass and as it moves over the grass it has a vacuum powered suction that sucks up any type of loose debris, removing it from the lawn and placing it into a compartment for you to later dump into the trash or compost heap. This works well for sucking up leaves, so you don’t have to bend down and strain your back to rake them, pile them, lift them and then bag them, but it will also suck up other types of debris as well, such as small twigs, dirt and other small loose objects that settle on the lawn.
While some may think that having this type of device is a bit of a luxury, the truth is that it really is not. The cost for most models is not that high and does not cost more than a few rakes (and you usually need more than one rake because you need help raking up all the leaves in your yard). Also, once you factor in the amount of effort that is reduced in cleaning up the leaves, and the resulting strain on your back, you will find that the cost of purchasing the equipment usually far outweighs its benefits.
